29 05 2008

brackish \BRAK-ish\

adjective:
1. Somewhat salty.
2. Distasteful; unpalatable.

Brackish derives from Dutch brak, “salty.” It is especially used to describe a mixture of seawater and fresh water.

Increasing our vocabulary one word at a time.

In tribute to the band Kittie. Although this all-female band wasn’t anything exceptional—save for the fact that they were an all-female metal band—they still hold a special place in my heart…and H.S. memories.
