RIP Yves Saint-Laurent
Revolutionary French fashion designer, Yves Saint-Laurent has died at the age of 71 in Paris. The reclusive designer had been diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2007 and died yesterday.
He was known for making pants suits and tuxedos an acceptable and fashionable option for everyday women’s work wear and evening wear, respectively.
He was also known for being the first designer to bring high fashion to the masses. His ‘ready-to-wear’ line, Rive Gauche, took his haute couture designs, added aspects of everyday fashion and created clothing that was easy to wear and easy to purchase.
